"MIND THE RULER"

 1. We know that the mind, in its function of reception  and correlation, is the ruling and governing factor of all the sense-organs.


2. In that case, the Upanisad accepts the mind as the king of the Indriyas and naturally, its presiding deity becomes none other than Lord Indra, the king of Devas.


3. Briefly then the conscious actions, performed with a deep desire to gain the fruits thereof, develop the necessary traits and impressions in the mind plane.


4. That the outward actions leave a clear trail upon the mental stuff, seems to be hint suggested by the secret meaning of the Upanisad mantras.
